CEO and Founder, Anton Sparks (BEcon Hons)

Online Building is spearheaded by Anton Sparks. He founded Online Building after spending more than a decade working in the investment banking sector for well-renowned banking institutes like Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan in London.

On his return to South Africa he identified a gap in the market for a niche building materials distribution agency that cut out the middle man. With only a handful of customers, Online Building has since grown to servicing more than 2000 builders and developers across the Western Cape, Namibia and Southern Africa.

Internal Sales and Administration, Jo Le Roux

Jo has spent most of her 24-year plus career working within the building materials retail sector. She started her career at Airton Timbers where she first learnt the ropes about sales.

She joined Online Building in 2014 after coming out of early retirement. Simply not ready to kick up her feet at home just yet, she missed the world of sales.

Senior Sales Executive, Andrew Symmonds

Andrew Symmonds is not just one of our Senior Sales gurus, he’s also the ultimate people’s person and a huge asset to the Online Building team. In his earlier years in Cape Town and London, he head up sales teams in the hotel and restaurant industry.

Since 2008, he moved quickly through the ranks of sales rep to sales and store manager at Penny Pinchers, now Buco where he achieved top salesperson of the year for 6 consecutive years, consistently overachieving individual sales target year on year.

In 2014, Andrew studied through the University of Pretoria, achieving five distinctions in their Retail Management Development Programme.

PR and Marketing Department Head, Gwen Sparks

Heading up our PR and Marketing Department is Gwen. She cut her teeth working for global magazine brands like Men’s Health, Golf Digest, and Sports Illustrated.

Since then, some of her other accolades include major campaigns for top industry brands such as Pentravel, Tops at Spar Wine Show, Conduit Interior, Adventure Boot Camp, and more recently, construction brand Selcrete, to name just a few.

Knowing when to strike while the iron is hot is her secret to achieving a successful campaign guaranteed to move the marker and leave a lasting impression.
